While attending the premiere of Fanboys in Columbus, Ohio I had the opportunity to meet Cole Horton, a local R2 Builder. Cole was kind enough to let me drive his Artoo around the lobby at the premier, and invited me to a local gathering they were having in Cincinnati.

The group gathered in a conference room of a local hotel. There was a decent sized crowd when I arrived that soon doubled by the time I left. I stopped in briefly to check it all out and say hello, as I had my daughter with me whom I tricked into coming along for the ride with a promise of "the mall" after. Cole and his crew had some really cool stuff on display which was nice to check out up close and in person. Most notable was the new styrene R2 kit, which I'm anxious to see complete as I may get one for myself. For more information on the R2 Builders, please visit their official website at Astromech.net.
