LEGO maniac Jeremy B. from across the pond sent me this image showing that there are now indeed three different variations of the R2-D2 minifig. From left to right: 1. Regular "old" R2-D2. 2. First new R2-D2 from the 10188 Death Star playset. 3. A different new R2-D2 from the 8037 Anakin's Y-wing set.
Look at all of the cool R2-D2 collectibles LEGO is handing out at their Master Builder Events. The new R2-D2 brick is the first Star Wars brick since Episode One I believe. These items were obtained at a recent build in Annapolis, MD. Special thanks to Erik J. for the news, pics, and remembering to get me one too!
My good buddy Jeremy from the UK sent me this link where you can order a custom engraved aluminum 2x4 LEGO brick keychain. You can get your name, various logos like a skull and cross bones or the imperial and rebel insignia. But there is a valid point to this post, you can also get R2-D2's dome engraved on the brick! Click here to check it all out!
Our good friend Chris from Artoo-Detoo.net sent us a heads up about a R2-D2 LEGO Build that took place recently at the Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo, California. He took his own R2-D2 to the event and "crashed" it if you know what I mean. Just look at all the kids around his R2 rather than the LEGO build. Good stuff Chris! Click here for more pics!
