I had to share this cool piece I got off of artist Randy Walker. It's our favorite droid on that classic vintage black Kenner card, only done in watercolors and pen. I included a lighter for scale, so you could see how big it actually is. He's done many other characters, and after getting this piece, I highly recommend adding some to your own collection!
Etsy seller "CarvedCrayons" created this unique collectible that you won't find in the local toy aisle. This R2-D2 was hand carved from a large size Crayola crayon which is slightly bigger than the standard size. You can purchase a plain white version, or one with extra colors applied via melting wax from other crayons. Click here to check it out and order one for yourself!
I got a special heads up from Five Spot Derby that they'll be offering this piece for sale at 10:30 AM PST on May 20th. It's R2-D2 created using the text from the opening crawl of Star Wars : A New Hope.
I've finally scored one of these cool prints from Etsy shop "TheGeekerie". This fine art print is a grungy, modern art illustrated take on the popular droid R2-D2 from the Star Wars universe. This print would make a great addition to any geek den, living room, office space, or bedroom wall. Click here to order, and check out all of the other Star Wars prints available!
This 36"x48" was hand crafted for a young new padawan, and their Star Wars themed nursery. You can read more about it and see more photos here at Mightymega.com.
Got this from my pal Josh V. from the Cleveland, OH area. I have no idea who the artist is. He mentioned picking it up from an artist booth at some kind of a zombie con or walk?
The San Francisco Canstruction project had a movie theme this year, and wouldn't you know it, R2-D2 was created to represent Star Wars. You can check them all out here at their website.
Here's a cool piece of custom mash up art from Nick Scurfield. It's pretty creative to see our favorite astromech all decked out like Boba Fett. Nick also writes:
"I wanted to take Artoo's cocky little frame and bestow it with some of the razor sharp coolness usually reserved for Mr B. Fett. I don't know if its because its getting late or I've been working on it for too long, but theres something about this mash up that already feels comfortably familiar."
